Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Map Pack Screenshots

May 14th, 2010 admin No comments

The following maps will be in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Map Pack, due June 3rd, 2010. In order of appearance below: Strike and Vacant from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Then 3 new maps titled Fuel, Trailer Park and Carnival.

I am glad that all the new maps are during the day and no “night time and/or rainy” maps are in this final map pack we will most likely ever see for Modern Warfare 2.

Strike from Call of Duty 4 to Modern Warfare 2: You will notice a few changes in just this picture alone, then the original Strike in COD4. Which is personally my favorite map from COD4 and I am glad MW2 is getting it.

Vacant from Call of Duty 4 to Modern Warfare 2: This map as well from COD4 has some changes done to it then from the original Vacant in COD4.

Fuel: I think this map will be one of my favorite new maps in MW2. Minus the sniping aspect of it. Completely unique from the other maps. The setting is an oil refinery and is split into two sections. One area is wide-open for snipers and the other half is a large warehouse with tight corridors.

Trailer Park: Contains tight corridors and condensed areas. Very maze-like with obvious choke points. In context of the game, this map is the living quarters for the people who run the Boneyard level found in Modern Warfare 2′s singleplayer campaign. The Boneyard will be viewable in the background.

Carnival: Desolate amusement park with excellent vantage points for snipers. It’s “unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” said Bowling. The map takes place during the daytime and includes all original art and model assets. Bowling added that the team really wanted to include this in the first map pack, but the team needed additional time for polish. It’s a fairly large map and includes many set pieces, such as roller-coasters, a fun house, and bumper cars.

Activision did not want Modern Warfare

March 5th, 2010 admin No comments

I am more than happy to hear that Infinity Ward fought for these titles to be released. I do not know what heads over at Activision think that such a title would be a risk. What type of people are they actually asking or who was doing the marketing research to think that no one would want such a title? These guys should be instantly fired from the company.

Why? The outcome was fucking crazy, ignore Modern Warfare 2 sells for a moment and just take a look at just Call of Duty 4. Yup, not much a risk anymore was it Activision and now you are rich. Not many people want games of the past anymore. Everybody is loving Modern this and that. Examples: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Medal of Honor, Battlefield Series and others.

Former Infinity Ward bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West said last year that Activision never wanted to create a Modern Warfare title – and the studio had to “fight” to convince the publisher to let them create CoD4.

Zampella and West were sensationally ousted from their positions yesterday – after Activision security ‘stormed’ Infinity Ward HQ in California. The publisher accused some Infinity Ward staff – thought to be West and Zampella – of ‘insubordination’.

But it appears disagreement between the parties was nothing new. In October last year, Zampella and West discussed their differences of opinion with Activision to OPM. West even said Infinity Ward had to “fight for everything” with their owners.

Zampella added: “Activision also did not want Modern Warfare. They thought working on a modern game was risky and [thought], ‘oh my god you can’t do that, it’s crazy!’ They were doing market research to show us we were wrong the whole time,” he said.

Some Changes You’ll Notice Over CoD4

September 9th, 2009 admin No comments

1. UAV’s can now be shot down. Same still goes for helicopters and the AC130.
2. Double weapon attachments, red dot and silencer anyone? :)
3. New kill streaks.
4. But with new kill streaks comes death streaks also come with this. After 3 consecutive deaths players will be able to choose their death streaks. They will need to unlock some of these, the default you get is Copycat which allows that player to steal his killer’s class for one round and get a taste of more advanced weapons and perks. Painkiller is another one which awards players 10 seconds of extra health after they have just respawned.
5. Secondary weapons. There is no longer a slot for your pistol it has been replaced with secondary weapons, so if you want to be a sniper and carry a shotgun, you can now.
6. New attachments for your weapons include a heartbeat sensor, thermal scope, tactical knife and more.
7. Riot shields! You can not shoot and hold it at the same time though but you can bash people with it. While not carrying it, you carry it on your back giving you protection from behind.
8. A capture the flag mode is here, which you all probably know if you have seen the flag runner multiplayer video.

The list is not limited to this and there is more details to come so look out for more update posts here as more details come in.

Call of Duty 4 Title Update – Hack and Mod Free

May 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

Robert Bowling (fourzerotwo) just tweeted that the Call of Duty 4 Title Update for Xbox 360 is now Hack and Mod free. Not that I personally came across this (maybe) but at least I will not now. If you are unfamiliar Call of Duty: World at War had the same similar update last week in its update to fix the same thing going on with hacks and mods there too.

Call of Duty 4 reaches 15 million online

March 14th, 2009 admin No comments

For about a year and half old game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare still is climbing all the time in players. As said by JoyStiq it has become a judger when comparing modern first-person shooters. It is still in the top 3 or 5 each each on Xbox Live’s weekly activity charts. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling recently revealed the most convincing testimony of the game’s success while accepting CoD 4′s three BAFTA Awards in London earlier this week — according to Bowling, the game’s online multiplayer component has played host to just over 15 million players.

Bowling clarified that 11 million of said players joined CoD 4′s ranks via Xbox Live, while over four million entered the fray on PSN. He didn’t even mention how many PC gamers had gotten their war on, though we’re sure that when combined with the console players, CoD 4′s total online population would rival that of many average-sized countries.

CoD 4 versus CoD WaW Usage

World At War Sees Less Play Than CoD4? According to GamerDNA analyst Sanya Weathers, who is a former Director of Community for Mythic Entertainment, 64.7 percent of its sampled members have played CoD4 since its November 2007 launch.

“At least ten million copies of the game have sold, but that figure represents sales across all platforms (Gears was initially available only on the Xbox 360, as Gears 2 is at the present time),” Weathers notes. “It too offers a multiplayer component.”

Sales figures for Call of Duty: World at War are harder to pin down, although recent compiled NPD data noted that it sold 4.63 million copies across all formats in the U.S. in 2008. 23 percent of GamerDNA members played World at War title 49 days after its release. But Call Of Duty 4, at the same point in its cycle, had garnered 42 percent of the population.

The following chart shows Call Of Duty player history:

CoD4 “complete”, no more updates

December 14th, 2008 admin No comments

We will not be seeing anymore updates out of Infinity Ward for CoD4. Meaning, no new playlists and no new maps. This is pretty much certain as fourzerotwo himself strongly suggested this.

They have already moved onto their next project (CoD6). It is not like most have not known this for a while though, we were only given one map pack, which was not that great to say the least. We stopped playing CoD4 anyways at the beginning of October 2008.

Infinity Ward Posers

October 23rd, 2008 admin No comments

I have begun to see more and more Infinity Ward Posers each time I get in a game of CoD4 on Xbox 360. It is becoming really really sad. The latest poser I saw today was Gamertag: xVv VIOL3NT vVx. It is far much worse than actually sad when a person such as xVvVIOL3NTvVx has to go around saying that they work for Infinity Ward. Get a real job kid.

Want more proof? Just take a look at his GameBattles Profile vP_VIOL3NT or a screenshot here if it is ever changed or removed. 17 year old kid working for Infinity Ward with a freewebs account? You have got to be kidding me, right? Point at laugh at his old GameBattles account here (screenshot)
