Modern Warfare 2 DLC Arriving on 360 March 30th!

It has just been confirmed by Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling that Modern Warfare 2′s first DLC (downloadable content) will arrive on Xbox 360 March 30th, 2010. If you are unaware of this, this is exclusive to Xbox 360 for the first 30 days only. Afterwards, those PS3 and PC players will be able to play these new maps as well. So mark your calendars!

In this new downloadable content currently titled from my knowledge as “Stimulus Package” I do know contain 2 maps from Call of Duty 4, those being Overgrown and Crash. I am more a fan of Strike and Bog and wish those were coming over instead. Could you imagine a game of Bog on Modern Warfare 2? Hell yeah, I wish it would happen. But I would be more than happy with just Strike, my favorite map of all time.

They also contain 3 new maps Complex, Compact and Storm. I can not post pictures that have been previously leaked days ago. You will just have to wait till the end of the month to play them or as new information arrives over the next few weeks. I am sure there will be and we will be posting them when the time comes too.

Game Informer offers first look at Modern Warfare 2

As confirmed by Game Informer, the June issue of the popular gaming magazine will feature Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 for its “world exclusive first look”. The magazine promises ten pages worth of coverage on the shooter that will “blow your mind”.

“We’ve been really excited to reveal this one, so here it is: Modern Warfare 2. We’ve got a 10 page world-exclusive cover story on the new shooter that’s going to blow your mind.” The information comes after the first gameplay teaser for Modern Warfare 2 was shown on TNT this past week.

Scans from the upcoming issue show the following features will be included in Modern Warfare 2:

No co-op in story mode, but separate missions reminiscent of CoD4′s Mile High Club include cooperative multiplayer.
In the wintery bits of the game, snowmobiles will be used to escape attack, but it’s unclear whether players will be driving or shooting from the vehicles. Ice walls can also be climbed by alternating between the two triggers.
A live-patching system will be implemented for online multiplayer, forgoing the need for a downloadable patch.
Game will run at 60 frames-per-second, with better detail than CoD4.
Riot shields, movable turrets and customized weapons for single-player enemies were mentioned.
Gameplay’s a bit more open-ended than CoD4 but is still linear.
Stealth can now be used if you like.
Infinity Ward’s working on fixing enemy respawn issues (CoD4′s enemies would constantly respawn unless a player crossed a certain line).
The single-player campaign will be longer than it was in CoD4.

Microsoft today revealed that Activision Publishing Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) new Call of Duty®: World at War, Map Pack 1 set a new record for number of downloads in its first week of release on Xbox LIVE. Since the launch of the pack, Xbox LIVE members have played more than 150 million multiplayer sessions on Call of Duty: World at War, with friends and rivals joining in the action from all corners of the globe.
