It has just been confirmed by Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling that Modern Warfare 2’s first DLC (downloadable content) will arrive on Xbox 360 March 30th, 2010. If you are unaware of this, this is exclusive to Xbox 360 for the first 30 days only. Afterwards, those PS3 and PC players will be able to play these new maps as well. So mark your calendars!

In this new downloadable content currently titled from my knowledge as “Stimulus Package” I do know contain 2 maps from Call of Duty 4, those being Overgrown and Crash. I am more a fan of Strike and Bog and wish those were coming over instead. Could you imagine a game of Bog on Modern Warfare 2? Hell yeah, I wish it would happen. But I would be more than happy with just Strike, my favorite map of all time.

They also contain 3 new maps Complex, Compact and Storm. I can not post pictures that have been previously leaked days ago. You will just have to wait till the end of the month to play them or as new information arrives over the next few weeks. I am sure there will be and we will be posting them when the time comes too.

I am more than happy to hear that Infinity Ward fought for these titles to be released. I do not know what heads over at Activision think that such a title would be a risk. What type of people are they actually asking or who was doing the marketing research to think that no one would want such a title? These guys should be instantly fired from the company.

Why? The outcome was fucking crazy, ignore Modern Warfare 2 sells for a moment and just take a look at just Call of Duty 4. Yup, not much a risk anymore was it Activision and now you are rich. Not many people want games of the past anymore. Everybody is loving Modern this and that. Examples: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Medal of Honor, Battlefield Series and others.

Former Infinity Ward bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West said last year that Activision never wanted to create a Modern Warfare title – and the studio had to “fight” to convince the publisher to let them create CoD4.

Zampella and West were sensationally ousted from their positions yesterday – after Activision security ’stormed’ Infinity Ward HQ in California. The publisher accused some Infinity Ward staff – thought to be West and Zampella – of ‘insubordination’.

But it appears disagreement between the parties was nothing new. In October last year, Zampella and West discussed their differences of opinion with Activision to OPM. West even said Infinity Ward had to “fight for everything” with their owners.

Zampella added: “Activision also did not want Modern Warfare. They thought working on a modern game was risky and [thought], ‘oh my god you can’t do that, it’s crazy!’ They were doing market research to show us we were wrong the whole time,” he said.

Here are the changes, the same as last time. This patch does not include the PERMANENT care package exploit as Infinity Ward has been working on. But it does fix the current easy simple way for the infinite care package exploit.

• Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
• Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
• Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
• Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
• Fixes to prevent various XP hacks (including the prevention of negative XP)

Here is your typical game scenario after inserting a copy of Modern Warfare 2 and playing online.

Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling tweeted 10 hours ago that the Care Package, Sentry Gun and Emergency Airdrop Glitch has been fixed on the PC version. It has already been fixed on Xbox 360 and PS3 but only when the patch arrives on the consoles. There is no time estimate as to when though, this is still going through Microsoft’s Approval and Certification process.

The following updates have been issued to the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC version of MW2. The PC version updates have already been released. There is no time frame as to when the Xbox 360 or PS3 will get them, expect the PS3 to get them sooner than the 360 though.

• Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
• Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
• Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
• Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
• Fix to prevent various XP hacks, including the prevention of obtaining negative XP.
• Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
• Fixes to prevent various texture hacks (PC-ONLY)

Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling has just tweeted information on the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 update for 360, PS3 and PC.

#MW2 Update in Test now: 1887s Balanced. Public “private” Match fix. Infinite Ammo fix. Prestige Hack on PS3 fix. Texture Hack on PC fix.

I’m really happy as well as most of you I’m sure, to see the “private” match crap get fixed. The new infinite ammo will be fixed too (which I did not experience yet, thank god). As my previous post stated, the Model 1887’s are for sure getting balanced! I just hope they get it right this time.

This is good news! Now I already know the 1887’s have good range in real life, but in the game, in many people’s opinions the range is just too much. Those that you hear different from, most likely are the kids using this weapon and will soon not be able to get those easy kills, easily.

Glad to see them actually working on something, especially this. Since lately it seems to be every few matches you will get put into these, it was very common last night.

Now if only they could work on matchmaking better. I don’t know how many times that it picks a host that should not be host, when I or others should be host, see below:
