Black Ops Double XP Weekend Starts Tomorrow

Treyarch is giving everyone another Double XP Weekend starting tomorrow, March 4th, at 10AM PST / 12PM CST. It will end Monday, March 7th, at approximately 10AM PST / 12PM CST.

This Double XP Weekend is on all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii). You will see 2x the normal earn rate of XP & COD Points. This Double XP Weekend is largely due to the fact that today the first map pack Xbox 360 users saw a month ago, came out today for the PS3 only at the moment. PC and Wii are still coming at an unannounced date.

Black Ops First Double XP Weekend Feb. 4th-6th

It has been confirmed! The first ever Double XP Weekend for Call of Duty Black Ops will be starting on February 4th through the 6th, 2011. This is for ALL platforms, not just the Xbox 360, so if you are playing on PS3, PC or Wii, you will be receiving Double XP as well.

It will start at 12PM CST/1PM EST/10AM PST and end Monday morning.

This is the same weekend as Super Bowl 45 as well as the first weekend after the First Strike Map Pack release for the Xbox 360.

3D comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops

3D is going to be available in Call of Duty: Black Ops which gets released November 9th.

The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC version are only supported for 3D. You are obviously required to have the technology to play in 3D. You do not have to buy a separate version of the game either (disc). The ability to play in 3D is included as an option to turn on/off in each version of the game (Xbox 360, PS3 or PC).

For all you Xbox 360 users out there, to also further play in 3D, you must be using an HDMI cord, and not component. It is also only compatible in 720p mode, not 1080i or 1080p.

As taken from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3D FAQ:

DO I NEED A SPECIAL TELEVISION OR COMPUTER MONITOR TO PLAY THE GAME IN 3D?

Yes. Call of Duty: Black Ops can output 3D signals for televisions that implement an active-shutter stereoscopic 3D technology. Xbox 360 users need a television that supports a “side by side” 3D mode. PlayStation 3 users need a television that supports a “top-bottom” or “over-under” 3D mode. PC users need a monitor that supports Nvidia 3D Vision 3D technology.

NOTE: Call of Duty: Black Ops is not compatible with other 3D technologies and/or modes such as anaglyph, polarized, ChromaDepth, or ColorCode 3D technologies. Active shutter televisions that support only a “checkerboard” 3D mode are also not compatible.

MW2 Stimulus Map Pack Hits PSN Network

The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Map Pack has finally hit the PlayStation Network for a price of $14.99. This Map Pack is the same Map Pack that Xbox 360 received exclusively well over a month ago. So you PS3 players out there, go grab it now!

If you are unfamiliar with what maps are included in this DLC, the maps are Bailout, Salvage and Storm. Then also Overgrown and Crash which are maps from Call of Duty: 4.

Modern Warfare 2 Double XP Weekend Coming!

Mark your calendars now! April 2nd through April 5th is the first Double XP weekend that is coming to Modern Warfare 2! Also according to Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling’s tweet, this looks to be exclusive to Xbox 360 users too, so PlayStation 3 and PC users are out of luck.

But I am more than sure that you players on those platforms get your own Double XP weekend a month after when the maps are not exclusive to 360 anymore.

Infinite Care Package Glitch Fix Coming Soon

Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling tweeted 10 hours ago that the Care Package, Sentry Gun and Emergency Airdrop Glitch has been fixed on the PC version. It has already been fixed on Xbox 360 and PS3 but only when the patch arrives on the consoles. There is no time estimate as to when though, this is still going through Microsoft’s Approval and Certification process.

Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling has just tweeted information on the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 update for 360, PS3 and PC.

#MW2 Update in Test now: 1887s Balanced. Public “private” Match fix. Infinite Ammo fix. Prestige Hack on PS3 fix. Texture Hack on PC fix.

I’m really happy as well as most of you I’m sure, to see the “private” match crap get fixed. The new infinite ammo will be fixed too (which I did not experience yet, thank god). As my previous post stated, the Model 1887′s are for sure getting balanced! I just hope they get it right this time.
