Modern Warfare 2 Box Art
Call of Duty again? I wonder what is going on with this or if maybe this is old concept box art? Because not sure if any of you know but Infinity Ward decided to drop the Call of Duty name and start their own franchise and continue with just Modern Warfare 2.
Infinity Ward: Two-player the ‘magic number’ for co-op
I am disappointed that there will only be a max of two-player co-op but if you ask me, I still think that Infinity Ward is hiding something and that we will see some type of four-player mode which just may be a zombie mode.
Two-player is the “magic number” for co-op, Infinity Ward has said. The last Call of Duty game, Treyarch’s World at War, featured four-player campaign co-op and a bonus four-player survival Zombie Mode.
Modern Warfare 2, due out worldwide on November 10, won’t have a campaign co-op mode at all. Instead it will have a two-player Special Ops mode, “designed to be replayed over and over again”.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Robert Bowling, director of communications/community manager at Infinity Ward, explained the decision, saying it didn’t want to “ruin the story by cramming co-op into it”.
He said: “We don’t do co-op in our story because we’re crafting a very specific experience and we don’t want to ruin that by cramming co-op into it. We take the moments that work really well with co-op, we bring them out and we put them in Special Ops.”
“Story’s all about pacing,” he added. “Sometimes moments get toned down because they don’t fit with the pacing of the experience you’re trying to deliver. There (in Special Ops) it’s all about fun. It’s about playing over and over again, getting a better time – you’ll have a time at the end of it – it’s about challenging a friend going in on co-op and trying to beat it on veteran.”
When asked why Special Ops was limited to two players, not four, Bowling replied: “Two player seemed to be the magic number for co-op. That’s when it stayed really fun and intense without becoming a clusterf**k of things. We just found that two-players was the most fun.”

Infinity Ward drops some new “Modern Warfare 2″ chatter
Robert “Fourzerotwo” Bowling, director of communications and community manager at Infinity Ward, has updated his Twitter feed with word that he’s been reviewing voice-over from Modern Warfare 2. As in the sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that Activision still hasn’t properly announced.
Bowling’s tweet reads, “Reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today. ‘Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all.’” As you may remember, Heroes actor Ken Lally got into hot water for talking about VO he was doing for the game late last month.
And so the saga of one of gaming’s most recent Worst Kept Secrets continues. Oh, and Activision, it goes like this: official announcement in the spring, magazine cover and first look event shortly thereafter, full reveal at E3. That one’s on the house.
