Escalation comes out May 3rd, 2011 for 1200 MSP ($15) exclusively to Xbox 360 for the first month.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation downloadable content pack will launch worldwide, first on Xbox Live on May 3, 2011.
The Escalation Map Pack contains 5 all-new exceptionally varied maps; featuring 4 Multiplayer maps and an epic Zombies experience with all-new playable characters.
In Multiplayer, battle it out in “Hotel”, on the roof of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino against the vivid backdrop of old Havana; “Convoy” delivers intense, close-quarters combat at the scene of an ambushed US military convoy; “Zoo” takes you on a wild ride in an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo, with danger at every turn; “Stockpile” pits players in a remote Russian farm town housing secret WMD facilities.
For Zombies fans, “Escalation” features a unique Zombies experience. We can’t wait to take the wraps off of our new Zombies map, Call of the Dead, a very special creation for all Zombies fans.
Additionally, to celebrate the upcoming release, there will be a Black Ops Double XP weekend beginning the afternoon on Friday, May 6th, 2011 and ending early AM on May 9th, 2011.

The launch details for a second Call of Duty Black Ops map pack may have been leaked, thanks to a retailer error. If this ends up being true, and we at team bRos believe it to be, then Call of Duty Black Ops Escalation is scheduled to arrive on May 3, 2011.
The new map pack will have five maps called Zoo, Hotel, Convoy, Stockpile, and the zombie map Survive.
Now just from this teaser image (click to enlarge) the new maps look even better than ‘First Strikes’ multiplayer maps. We don’t play zombie’s as much but the ‘First Strike’ zombie map ‘Ascension’ was probably the best zombie map I have ever played by Treyarch. So I can only hope it gets even better from here on out for this map pack zombie map called ‘Survive’, time will tell.
The map pack will more than likely be released for 1200 MSP (or $15) as what map packs today have been priced at for a while now.

Treyarch is giving everyone another Double XP Weekend starting tomorrow, March 4th, at 10AM PST / 12PM CST. It will end Monday, March 7th, at approximately 10AM PST / 12PM CST.
This Double XP Weekend is on all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii). You will see 2x the normal earn rate of XP & COD Points. This Double XP Weekend is largely due to the fact that today the first map pack Xbox 360 users saw a month ago, came out today for the PS3 only at the moment. PC and Wii are still coming at an unannounced date.
On February 28th, 2011 Title Update 7 went out for the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Issues Addressed:
• Matchmaking improvements to return higher quality results faster. This change includes settings that are tunable in the live environment, so tweaking may continue beyond initial release of this update.
• The in-game store now hides DLC map packs that do not match the language of the player’s disc to decrease the possibility of users downloading the incorrect language version.
• Calling in a Chopper Gunner immediately after getting shot down in a Gunship will no longer end the Chopper Gunner run prematurely. Required timing-specific button presses.
• Split screen players are now able to change camera perspectives and cycle through players as a spectator.
• Addressed an issue where the most recent match played in Zombies could overwrite the best match played on the leaderboard.
• Improved Zombies lobbies to prevent players from erroneously receiving the error “Unable to join game session” under certain circumstances.
• Addressed a number of community-discovered Zombies gameplay exploits.
• Additional security feature updates.
Gameplay Tuning:
• Additional sniper rifle tuning.

Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike Map Pack will arrive on Xbox Live at approximately 4AM CST/5AM EST/2AM PST for 1200MSP.
It has been confirmed! The first ever Double XP Weekend for Call of Duty Black Ops will be starting on February 4th through the 6th, 2011. This is for ALL platforms, not just the Xbox 360, so if you are playing on PS3, PC or Wii, you will be receiving Double XP as well.
It will start at 12PM CST/1PM EST/10AM PST and end Monday morning.
This is the same weekend as Super Bowl 45 as well as the first weekend after the First Strike Map Pack release for the Xbox 360.

With the new DLC coming out, there will also be new Achievement to get for a total of 150 additional gamerscore. First Strike’s Ascension map will challenge you to complete several outstanding objectives, while you battle to survive the waves of zombies.
But you could also always use the leave 1 zombie alive at the end with your friends to help for most of these new achievements, too.
