Final word on MW2 beta rumors

This is coming straight from Robert Bowling’s (fourzerotwo’s blog) but shortened for you with my own words. If you would like to read the original article and what fourzerotwo had to say, click the source link at the bottom of this post.

Unless Infinity Ward announces a Public Beta, their will not be one. So unless your information is coming straight from Infinity Ward or a website’s article with a source link to an Infinity Ward/Activision announcement, their will not be one.

This does not mean the multiplayer will be bad. Ask yourself when has Infinity Ward ever put out a bad multiplayer? Never. I have been playing since the first release of Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 on PC and never once thought they were ever bad. They get more amazing each new game.

Robert goes on to also say that they have been doing closed beta’s inside of Infinity Ward, Activision, and possibly 1st party partners worldwide. Also if they feel once the internal beta has completed and they do not feel they have received the feedback they wanted. They will push forward to a public one.

Remember, only at this time there will be a internal beta. This does not mean at all their might be a huge change there will be a public one this year. I know we all want to see one, just like their was with COD4 and CODWAW but from this announcement, do not lose sleep over thinking their may be one this time.

Ice-T playing Call of Duty: World at War

Ice T, first I want to say that I have always been of fan of yours. And not just from Law and Order: SVU but other work you have done in the past. So what I am going to say next, don’t think I am hating or anything. I think you suck though in Call of Duty, so if you ever want to play a group of people who are not “noobs” or even, with. Treyarch on Hacking / Console Modding

Call of Duty World at War’s latest Title Update addressed a number of issues that arose as a result of modders hacking their console and ultimately disrupting the online experience for everybody else.

In light of these recent events, they would like to make something abundantly clear to the community: Treyarch has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards console hackers / modders. They are actively working with our console partners (Microsoft and Sony) to take action against all proven offenders, up to and including a complete ban from all of their online services. Their number one priority is to protect the experience of our online gaming community (most of you reading this message), and the efforts of console hackers / modders directly target the community in a negative way.

They understand that a primary motivation in hacking / modding is to bring something “fresh” or “new” to the game. That is why the PC platform has a full suite of Mapping / Modding tools, along with plenty of documentation to go along with it. If you are interested in the technical aspect of game modding, check out the PC version of CoD:WaW, where modding is legal, fully supported, and encouraged. There is a flourishing community of mod developers who have taken their curiosity and passion for modifying the released game and have turned it into a positive experience for their fellow gamers and enthusiasts. In fact, some of the very talented developers at Treyarch were hired as a direct result of their productive PC modifications.

For those of you that are currently modding or are considering modding your console, this message should serve as a warning; for those of you looking to enjoy a safe and fun online experience, please be reassured by it – console hacking is illegal, and will not be tolerated. They are working hard to maintain a pure, fun online experience for upstanding players, and thank you for your ongoing support

Modern Warfare 2 Breaking Pre-Sale Records Already

MW2PEPublisher Activision has recently released it’s earning results, and in it is proof that Modern Warfare 2 is already setting records.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare sold 14 million copies worldwide in a year and a half. Now, analysts are predicting that the game could sell that many in 2 months. Now the time frame is shortening. Modern Warfare 2 has already smashed Activision’s pre-order records, beating every other game… and it’s only August. That’s every Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, beaten, and with 3 months before release, it looks like the records will keep coming.

If you’re looking to grab yourself the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition on November 10th then you’ll need hurry. The UK’s exclusive sellers of Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition, HMV, have announced via their website that they have sold out of the Xbox 360 limited edition version of the game. Many disgruntled fans, who are still hoping to get their hands on the game, have resorted to spamming the sites review section with questions such as “When will you be getting more..?” and “I need this game” in a bid to express their disappointment.

Things aren’t looking much better over in the United States either, with major US retailer GameStop reporting Prestige Edition shortages in many of its nationwide stores. This news comes just days after Infinity Ward’s Community Manager, Robert ‘402’ Bowling, posted on the IW Forums commenting on the huge demand for Modern Warfare 2. He commented on GameStop asking Infinity Ward to “produce more” copies “due to demand”. However, Infinity Ward bluntly refused, adding that the Prestige Edition will actually be limited, unlike the “Halo 3 Legendary Edition”, with each box having its own unique number.

So, if you’re hoping to purchase the MW2 Prestige Edition stop delaying, go and pre-order today – wherever available!
